FOREST THERAPY
Forest Therapy with Nature Together
Forest therapy, also known as shinrin-yoku or forest bathing, is a practice that involves immersing oneself in nature, particularly forests, to promote physical and mental health. It works by engaging multiple senses to deepen the connection with the natural environment, which can lead to increased health benefits.
Studies have shown that spending time in nature, particularly forests, can have measurable positive effects on both physical and mental health. These benefits include reduced stress hormones, improved mood, boosted immune function, lower blood pressure and improved focus.
About your Forest Therapy Guide
Kristin Hammer
I started Forest Therapy because I felt a deep need to reconnect—with myself, with nature, and with a slower, more intentional way of living. Two years ago I found myself feeling overworked, depleted and depressed. I started to look for therapy for myself to find balance in my life again. As I searched, I stumbled upon forest therapy and instantly felt a connection to what it offered. I remembered how deeply healing it was just to be in nature without needing to do anything.
I knew I wanted to share this experience with others who might be feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or burned out. Forest Therapy offers a gentle, welcoming path to presence, healing, and relationship with the natural world. It’s become not just a practice, but a way of life that continues to nourish and inspire me.
I received my training and certification through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy.
What to expect
During a forest therapy session I will lead participants through a series of sensory-based activities. These activities encourage slow, mindful engagement with the forest environment, shifting focus away from mental chatter and towards the present moment. The core of forest therapy lies in engaging all five senses – sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch – to experience the forest.
Each session runs from 10:00-12:00
We meet at the Japanese Gulch Trail Head located at 1199 19th St, Mukilteo, WA.
Cancellation and Refund Policy: Payment is due at the time you book Nature Therapy Therapy. Nature Therapy bookings can be rescheduled through our website up to 48 hours before your session begins. If cancelled within 48 hours of the session start time there will be no refunds.
