Jade Hoiby

Family Program Director/Teacher

Hi! I’m Jade Hoiby, an outdoor educator passionate about child-led play and nurturing deep connections with the natural world. Born and raised in Everett, Washington-- my Pacific Northwest roots and connection to the Haida Nation guide my approach to teaching and community.

I studied Cultural Anthropology and Education at the University of Washington and have spent the past seven years teaching Forest Preschool and leading youth and family programs at the UW Botanic Gardens.

Rooted in the rhythms of the forest, my work centers on curiosity, presence, and creating spaces where every child feels seen, heard, and valued. I believe the best learning happens outside through hands-on exploration, where children can move, imagine, and discover at their own pace.

I live in Everett with my husband and our two daughters, ages 1 and 3. Our family enjoys camping, gardening, and doting on our backyard chickens.

I’m so honored to join the Nature Together community!
