Teacher
Emily Bolen

Hi, I’m Emily Bolen, a Seattle native and homeschool mom who moved to Mukilteo in 2016. Prior to settling, I attended Western Washington University, and Pacific University outside of Portland, where I received multiple degrees including a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts and Master’s of Arts in Clinical Psychology. Through my own kids co-op preschools, I have over 8 years of Parent Education through Shoreline Community College.
My husband and I have 2 kids, ages 8 and 5. As a family we value education, adventure and the outdoors. A hiking and camping enthusiast, we typically spend our summers in a tent set in the North Cascades. I chose to homeschool to encourage outdoor education and natural learning in the elementary years, and to facilitate a lifestyle for travel.
A long time gardener, I have grown to know Kristen Hammer and the Nature Together School as garden neighbors at the Mukilteo Community Garden. I’m excited to be joining the Nature Together team with a group of teachers I find inspiring, while staying involved in early childhood education and exploring the outdoors.
