Alyssa Burrows

Teacher/Art Teacher

Hello, my name is Alyssa and I am delighted to be part of the Nature Together team.

I grew up in Sonoma County, California, and moved to Mukilteo in 2021. I have thoroughly enjoyed experiencing all of the biodiversity western Washington offers, and tide-pooling has become one of my favorite hobbies.

I hold a degree in Natural Sciences from Santa Rosa Junior College and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Sustainable Practices from Cascadia College. My passion for educating children about nature was sparked while teaching horseback riding, and I continued to connect them with the natural world while working with the San Luis Obispo Botanical Garden. I believe that outdoor experiences play a crucial role in enriching children's education and fostering their appreciation of the environment around them.

Besides my love for education and connecting children with nature, I also enjoy exploring nature through art. Whether I am capturing the beauty of a landscape in embroidery or spending an afternoon in nature while knitting, I find that art is an excellent way to deepen my appreciation and connection with the natural world.
